Cambodia and Türkiye Set to Enhance Cooperation Across Multiple Sectors

PHNOM PENH, August 16, 2024 — Cambodia and Türkiye are set to deepen their bilateral ties with expanded cooperation in key areas including education, agriculture, energy, civil aviation, and environmental protection, as well as in multilateral forums.

This commitment was highlighted during a meeting between Khuon Phon Rattanak, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Ülkü Kocaefe, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Türkiye to Cambodia. The discussions took place at the ministry on August 15.

A press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation noted that this year marks the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two nations. Both officials expressed satisfaction with the ongoing development of their bilateral relations.

The exchange of visits by leaders from both countries was recognized as highly significant, and there was a mutual commitment to promote more high-level exchanges in the future.

Discussions also covered a variety of regional and global issues of mutual interest, underscoring the broad scope of the partnership.
